ABOUT THEW MUSIC

1. LOVE HOPE CLARITY

This starts off the E.P. in celebration of life! Mainly an instrumental track but with the repeated joyous chant of “Love Hope Clarity flying free!!!” When looked at closely it is a simple but interesting play on words that opens up areas for thought. It also contains the line just before the guitar solo “Fly home free Soul Angel!” Many people have asked me what I mean by ‘Soul Angel’, the term comes from my second album ‘Soul Release’ which I produced in 2006, to me this is something very personal & has two meanings. One being that it is the part of my heart that has the spark & connects to God receiving direct guidance. The other being that it is actually the name of my guitar, my beloved black Fender Stratocaster, the instrument that I use as a channel for God to write the music that comes to you.

2. WHAT IS LOVE?

This song can be heard in 2 ways. One as simply a feel good pop song about the joy of falling in love …boy meets girl, or as a love song to God, a song of direct inquiry. As you will see by its official video it shows many images for reflection & thought. By closer inspection too the words can be seen to be addressing God directly, as in the Chorus I am not calling a lovers name but calling ‘LOVE’ it self. Also as the verse goes “You, Im falling for you. Your, eyes are like stars. They, twinkle in my heart. We’d make a great new start” so this is also about having a relationship with God. However you want to read this, as a song for your beloved or as a love letter to God. It really offers it self as a mirror to reflect back some thought for contemplation.

3. BRIGHT

A very interesting experimental & explorative song both in lyrics & music. With a back drop of psychedelic guitars, pulsing bass lines & soothing keys a thought provoking poem unfolds. Individual words arise & disappear at once connected but also standing alone which could take on many different meanings & open up some interesting ideas for enquiry. It’s also about standing in the Light of God & seeing the gifts in life’s struggles, as the lyric goes “….The truth of light is bright!”

4. FLYING PAST THE SKY

Possibly my favorite track on the E,P. ! A beautiful driving pulsing dance track with epic guitars providing a soaring Chorus that simply flies past the sky! Flying to what exactly? Freedom? Love? God? The Heavens? Or by taking Gods guidance you fly past to where you need to be? The title it self makes a nice meditation alone even without the music, where does this lead you in your release? The lyrics provide a theme of joy & acceptance of the guidance of God in ones life, there is a bold fearlessness about it, as the line goes ….” You guide my life with Golden Eyes, I know you have me insight” This is also reflected in the music taking you by the hand & flying you off into the stratosphere. To where ever it is finding your own personal ‘Delight’.
